Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions regarding booking an appointment, what happens during a session, treatments, and practical information about the studio.

How do I book an appointment at Rayon Noir?
Tattoo: you can book an appointment via our online form .
In addition to a detailed description , we will ask you to specify:
the area to be tattooed
the approximate size in cm
the desired style
your potential time constraints
references (images or inspirations)
Once we receive your request, we will direct you to the artist best suited to your project.

Is it possible to come without an appointment?
Tattooing: Some days may allow availability for small projects, but we mainly work by appointment .
To ensure an optimal experience, we advise you to contact us in advance.
Piercing: Yes . Walk-ins are welcome (except on Thursdays) but they do not have priority over appointments.
Do you offer "flash" projects?
Yes . Our artists regularly offer flash designs (pre-drawn designs available to be tattooed as is).
They are published on their Instagram or available directly in the studio depending on the time of year.
Can I choose my artist?
Of course . You can request a specific artist when you make contact.
If you are unsure, we can also guide you based on your project and the style you are looking for.
What is the average wait time for an appointment?
Timeframes vary depending on the artists, the period, and the complexity of the project.
Some appointments can be offered quickly, others require several weeks of waiting, especially for custom projects.
Is a deposit required?
Yes . A deposit may be required to confirm your appointment.
It allows you to reserve the time slot and start preparing the project.
The exact conditions (amount, timeframe, modification policy) are specified when booking the appointment.
Can an appointment be changed or cancelled?
Yes, under certain conditions.
We ask that you notify us as soon as possible of any changes.
Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the loss of the deposit.

How much does a tattoo cost?
Each project is unique: the price therefore depends on several factors:
size
location
level of detail
completion time
style
artist
A quote is usually provided after discussion (photos, inspirations, specific information).

How to properly prepare before getting a tattoo?
To arrive in the best possible conditions:
get enough sleep the night before
Eat before the session
hydrate yourself
Avoid alcohol 24 hours before
Avoid sunburn or irritation on the affected area.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area to be tattooed. It is not necessary to shave the area beforehand.
Can I bring someone with me?
For reasons of comfort and hygiene, accompanying persons do not have access to the tattoo or piercing booths.
However, they are welcome to wait in the waiting room.
Can you get a tattoo or piercing if you are sick?
We strongly advise against getting a tattoo if you have a fever, infection, or significant fatigue.
In this case, it is best to reschedule the session.
Is it safe to get a tattoo or piercing while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. For safety reasons, we do not tattoo pregnant or breastfeeding people.
Can you get a tattoo or piercing if you are a minor?
The studio tattoos minors over 16 years of age , only in the presence of a parent /legal representative, upon presentation of the latter's written authorization as well as upon presentation of the identity documents of the client and their parent (family record book required if different names).

May I ask for a break?
Yes . It is possible to take a break if necessary; please do not hesitate to ask your artist during the session.

How do I take care of my tattoo?
How long does healing take?
Can I do sports after getting a tattoo?
Can I go to the swimming pool or the sea?
Can I expose my tattoo to the sun?
My tattoo is peeling/scratching: is this normal?
What should I do if my tattoo looks infected?
→ Touch ups
Do you offer touch ups?
Yes . Depending on the project, a touch-up can be considered after complete healing.
The first touch-up session is included in the price of the tattoo.
Contact your artist directly and attach a photo taken in daylight to schedule an appointment for retouching.
When can a touch-up be done?
A touch-up is usually done after 4 to 8 weeks, once the skin has fully healed .
Do you perform checks on piercings done elsewhere?
Are you unsure about the healing of your piercing? Would you like our piercer to change your jewelry ? Do you need professional advice ? Feel free to stop by the studio (except on Thursdays) and Victoria , our piercer, will be happy to help you!
The first jewelry change is free if the piercing was done at the studio.
→ Hygiene & safety
Does the studio comply with hygiene standards?
Yes . At Rayon Noir, hygiene is an absolute priority.
All equipment is sterile and/or single-use, and workstations are disinfected between each customer.
All our residents have completed the mandatory hygiene and sanitation training.
Are the needles new?
Yes, all needles used are new, sterile and single-use.

Do you do custom tattoos?
Yes . A large part of our work is custom-made, in collaboration with the chosen artist.
We favour an artistic and personalized approach.
Can an old tattoo be covered up?
Yes , depending on the size, location and intensity of the existing tattoo.
We will ask you for clear photos in order to assess the possibilities.
Do you do touch-ups on tattoos done elsewhere?
It depends on the circumstances and the artists.
We invite you to send us photos and explain your request.

Do you accept bank cards?
No , the studio does not accept credit card payments for tattoos. Payment must be made in cash or via PayPal directly to your artist.
Our skincare kit can be paid for by credit card, as can the piercings .
